Project Life: Week of September 30-October 6

This past week we had a lot of fun with the zoo, apartment hunting, and General Conference.  Emma has been a hoot to be around, too.  We just love her big personality.  She just makes the most funny expressions and sometimes surprises us with the things she says.  The other day, I had put Emma in timeout for climbing on the coffee table.  I told her not to do it, but of course, she did it anyways.  When I took her out, we reviewed again why she had to go into timeout.  The conversation went something like this:

Mom: "Emma, do you know why you were in time out?"
Emma: Pretend sobbing, "Um hmm.  Yesh." (She says "yes" so cute right now.)
Mom:  "Emma, I put you in timeout because you climbed on the coffee table and that can be dangerous if you fall down.  I don't want you to get hurt.  Next time, will you listen to Momma?"
Emma: "Yesh."
Mom:  "Ok, Emma.  I love you." Hugs and kisses.

Project Life: Week of September 23-29

Well, I guess the good thing about having insomnia is that I can catch up on my blogging!  It feels great to be caught up.  Happy Sabbath!

Last Sunday with the McGarys and the...McGarys

Sunday before last (Sept. 23) we had the McGarys over...along with the McGarys.  Yes, Joel's sister's family and her in-laws had Sunday dinner with us.  It was a blast.  Brad's dad really got the kids laughing, which is saying alot, since Emma has been giving darting looks and evil stares lately.  I guess it takes a special McGary...  There was even one point where Emma was laughing so hard I thought she might throw up (she throws up pretty easily).  Well, here are the pictures.  Enjoy! (and ignore the random bats on the wall...lol, our awesome Halloween decorations).

The kids were hula dancing here.  Mr. McGary caught it on video.  You can see the post on my sister-in-law's blog.  Just scroll down to "Baby Hula Dancing" to see the video.  It is too cute!

I love Emma's expression in this next photo.  She is full of awesome expressions these days...So adult.

Project Life: Week of September 16-22

This post is actually one week late.  I have some catching up to do.  These past couple of weeks have been really busy with friends, family, appointments, work, and house stuff.  It has been fun getting the apartment ready for the holidays.  I'm trying to be better about creating traditions and celebrating certain times of the year so that Emmy can have more fun with the holidays.  In the past, Joel and I have only decorated for Christmas.  This year we have added Easter and Halloween/Fall into the mix.  Maybe next year, we'll add Valentine's and St. Patrick's Day.  Anyways, happy Fall, everyone!
