Video: David is All Giggles

In the last couple of days, David has discovered laughing.  He has always had a smile on his face from ear to ear, but now his laughs are contagious.

Love this kid.

Circus, Grandparents, and Water Fun!

It doesn't feel like we ended summer where we live.  The beauty about Florida is it is summertime almost year round...and that's the way we like it in the Christopher household. ;)

Here are a few recent things we did this past summer: the circus, a visit to Cape Coral, and lots of water fun.

The Circus

We were invited by our good friends, the Whipples, to the circus here put on by the Shriners.  Joel and the kids had never been to a circus, and I had never been to an indoor one.  I wasn't sure how the kids would do to sit through a two hour show, but they did great.  There was a lot of entertainment there--clowns, mascots, light toys, cotton candy, funnel cakes, other yummy food, balloons, dancers, jugglers, motorcycles, animals (bears, camels, snakes, etc..), jump house, donkey rides, and a jumping rope and gymnastics extravaganza.

Emma was a little creeped out by the clowns,
live bears, and the Jaguars mascot.

Jaguars, bears, and camels (what?), oh my!

Emma was mesmerized by this light toy we bought her.  So were we...
It was pretty cool.

Just like Daddy, popcorn addict in training.
Enjoying some post-circus popcorn after coming home.

Trip to Cape Coral: Visiting the Chinese Grandparents Over Labor Day Weekend (by Joel)

There's something so serene and relaxing about the Chue home. I'm not quite sure what it is. Maybe it's just the fact that its about as far south you can get and still be in the United States. Heat, palms, water canals, all at a retirement community pace. Emma really took to Grandma. She kept pointing and saying "Grandma, Grandma, look!" Grandma kept her occupied with all kinds of fun things like a mini xylophone, puzzle, colored pencils, Grandpa's elephant collection (Oops. Probably wasn't supposed to play with those). Emma ran Grandpa ragged on the playground, while Grandma danced to entertain David. We had some good Chinese meals to satisfy the belly and enjoyed a casual sampling style of eating. Before we left to head home, we set up the sprinklers in the back yard for Emma to play in. She had a blast and it helped us stay cool on a hot day. Well, actually every day's hot down here. ;-)

Water Fun

Summer has not left us lacking in trips to the pool, beach or outside with the water toys.  I wanted to get Emma a water table this summer, but since we have limited space in our apartment, I settled on this awesome bath toy instead.  Turns out, she loves it!  It can go in the bathtub or outside in the red play tub (which we already had purchased for $1 at Dollar Tree) or pool.  Happy times!  How do you keep your littles occupied and cool during the hot days?
